ABOUT
With melody and raw emotion as his primary weapons, Jordan Clayton is hypnotising a growing audience with his evocative, melodic sound. Rising above the waves of white noise, his journey has been nothing short of a seismic sonic evolution. From his early forays into production inspired by artists like Deadmau5 to a radical rethink that has led him to the complex and immersive audio textures that have earned him a place on Anjunadeep’s iconic roster.
He first ventured into production in 2011, dedicating long hours to the studio before spending a transformative time on the White Isle vowing never to return until he was booked to play there. By 2015 he was studying at the Academy for Contemporary music and was named BBC Introducing’s Artist of the Week, only to step back, feeling disillusioned with EDM’s mainstream sound. This period of introspection led him toward a new wave of melodic house, where he found fresh inspiration in artists like Yotto and Lane 8. The result? His Long Road Home EP—a turning point that charters his journey into deeper, more emotionally resonant sonic territory.
Clayton’s innovative, hybrid sound is a synthesis of influences, from UK Garage-inspired breaks to Organic House, his music enraptures listeners into a nostalgic reverie. Inspired by the natural world are compositions laced with cascading synth lines, brooding sub-bass, and an adrenaline rush of euphoric contemplative melodies. It is electronic music designed to ignite dancefloors and spark the imagination. With his knack for magnetic melodies, Clayton’s work as Into The Ether has notched up over ten million Spotify streams, earned multiple Beatport chartings, and received enthusiastic DJ support. His track Pull Me Closer saw heavy rotation, and Anjunadeep founder James Grant recently incorporated two of his songs on the Movement Volume 1 mix, filmed live in Goa.
Entering an exciting phase of his career, Clayton’s partnership with Anjunadeep continues to flourish. The success of his Keep Trying EP on their Explorations offshoot, alongside renowned producer LAR, led to him hosting the Anjunadeep Edition, fulfilling a long-held ambition. Recent remix work for Lane 8’s This Never Happened label, collaborations with vocalists, and a string of EPs forthcoming with Anjuna signal even greater things on the horizon. Already turning heads as A&R for Immersed Recordings, Clayton’s discerning taste for selecting and creating forward-thinking dance music is gaining recognition. As his sound design continues to evolve, get set for Into The Ethers’ stratospheric rise as he pushes his progressive sound across Europe and beyond.
